AI Prescription Generator with Prescriber Identifier Validation
Medroxa Prescription Generator helps licensed prescribers and authorized pharmacy staff draft structured, non-controlled medication proposals after prescriber identifier validation. Before generation, you submit an NPI (checked against the public CMS NPPES registry), optional DEA number (format/checksum only), state license details, and prescriber name with required attestation. The tool produces draft Rx text with direction/SIG, quantity and refill placeholders, counseling points, and a verification checklist for independent clinician review. This is clinical decision support only — not legal electronic prescribing (EPCS), identity proofing, or authorization to dispense.
The challenge
Clinicians and pharmacy teams often need a fast, structured first draft of a non-controlled prescription for documentation, MTM planning, or teaching — but free-text notes are inconsistent and lack built-in safety guardrails. Teams also need a clear boundary between decision-support drafting and regulated e-prescribing workflows, including controlled-substance restrictions and prescriber credential context.
How AI Prescription Generator helps
Prescription Generator combines a prescriber identifier validation panel with a structured clinical form: de-identified patient context, non-controlled medication request, indication, SIG, optional ICD code, and signature metadata. NPI is validated against NPPES; DEA is optional and checksum-validated only; state license and name are self-declared with explicit user attestation. Controlled and scheduled substances are blocked. Outputs are clearly marked as drafts requiring licensed prescriber review before any clinical or dispensing action.

Frequently asked questions
- Does Prescription Generator verify that I am the licensed prescriber?
- No. Medroxa validates identifier format and checks NPI against the public NPPES registry. It does not perform EPCS-level identity proofing, state board license verification, or confirm that the logged-in user holds the credentials entered. You must attest that you are the licensed holder.
- Is this legal electronic prescribing (EPCS)?
- No. Outputs are draft clinical decision support for review. Medroxa does not route prescriptions to pharmacies, issue digital signatures under DEA EPCS rules, or replace your EHR e-prescribing system.
- Can I generate prescriptions for controlled substances?
- No. Prescription Generator supports non-controlled medications only. Controlled and scheduled substances are blocked in the UI and on the server.
- What prescriber fields are required?
- NPI, license state, state medical license number, and prescriber name are required. DEA is optional. All users must complete attestation checkboxes before validation.
- Which plan includes Prescription Generator?
- Prescription Generator is available on the Pro tier. See Pricing for current daily run limits and vision quotas.
